With BeGaMo Sustainability, we now have the opportunity to take a holistic approach to sustainability with our customers, right through to the report. The concept with the software solution is so well structured that it is intuitive to use and the logically structured topics can be processed both chronologically and in parallel. The time required for processing, while at the same time ensuring that no topic area is neglected, is unbeatable compared to other systems."
"BeGaMo's unique approach to strategic sustainability development and reporting opens up completely new opportunities for DWL Treuhand AG and our clients in ecologically sustainable business management."
"For me, the BeGaMo® method is an attractive holistic method for supporting companies in all relevant areas of the organisation with all aspects of sustainability (environmental, social and governance - ESG), taking into account applicable frameworks based on the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In doing so, I like to use my skills as an integral coach to give the people working in the company the feeling that they do not have to fulfil an onerous duty, but want to make a lasting change for the protection and well-being of people, animals and the environment alike."
"The BeGaMo concept works on two levels: it guides you through the ESG jungle in a professional and goal-orientated manner. The questions asked also raise the organisation's awareness of the issue of sustainability. This is the best basis for innovations to emerge if the organisation's culture is right. If not, we combine this effectively and customised with my toolkit as a business psychologist."

Climate neutrality, greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1-3), life cycle assessment and reporting
Find out how you can make your company carbon neutral and learn how to analyse, assess and reduce your company's carbon emissions to create a sustainable future. Our practical resources offer concrete approaches for identifying and reducing emissions in the various scopes in order to minimise your ecological footprint. Take the first step towards sustainable business management.
Scope 1-3 are categories that classify the various sources of greenhouse gas emissions in companies.
Scope 1 comprises direct emissions from the company's own sources, e.g. from the combustion of fossil fuels.
Scope 2 refers to indirect emissions resulting from the generation of purchased electricity, steam or thermal energy.
Scope 3 includes indirect emissions caused by external sources, such as supply chains, business travel and the use of products sold.
CCF (Corporate Carbon Footprint): The corporate carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly and indirectly by an organisation. It includes all three scopes and serves as a measure of a company's ecological footprint.
PCF (Product Carbon Footprint): The Product Carbon Footprint measures the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the manufacture, use and disposal of a particular product. This enables companies and consumers to understand the environmental impact of products and make sustainable decisions.
LCA (Life Cycle Assessment): The life cycle assessment is a comprehensive method for evaluating the environmental impact of a product or service over its entire life cycle - from raw material extraction to disposal. It takes into account emissions, resource consumption and environmental impacts in the various phases of the life cycle.
CO2 reduction measures:
These measures can be diverse and range from the implementation of energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources to the promotion of sustainable production and consumption practices. Over 300 specific measures are listed in the BeGaMo® Sustainability Software.
CO2 compensation: CO2 compensation refers to the offsetting of released carbon dioxide by investing in projects that either save or absorb CO2. These projects are supported through the purchase of CO2 certificates or credits, which leads to a balancing of one's own CO2 emissions.
Our services:

CSRD / ESRS Self-assessment & sustainability reporting
The CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) is an extended version of the existing Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) and aims to improve corporate reporting on non-financial aspects. CSRD forms the legal basis that obliges companies to report on non-financial aspects.
ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) are the detailed standards and provide the guidelines that companies must follow when preparing their sustainability reports. The binding European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) therefore define the mandatory content that a company must report on in its sustainability report, for all ESG areas (environment, social, governance). The standards therefore stipulate WHAT must be included in a sustainability report.
Together, CSRD and ESRS contribute to harmonising corporate sustainability reporting standards and promoting more comprehensive and transparent disclosure of non-financial information in the EU. The aim is to ensure that companies provide comparable and high-quality information on their sustainability practices. Companies must prepare for these developments in order to meet the increasing demands on sustainability reporting.
Innovations, concretisation and expansion compared to the previous CSR-RUG:
Extension of reporting obligations for all large companies and companies listed on the regulated market
Standardisation of disclosure
Double materiality analysis (outside in & inside out)
Specification of the information, e.g. sustainability strategy, impact of the company, ...
Comprehensive information: qualitative, quantitative, short, medium and long-term with collection of > 1,200 data points
Validatable data with sufficient granularity
Obligation to report in the management report
Mandatory external audit by an independent third party
Digitisation and machine-readable format

Double materiality analysis and stakeholder management
Deepen your understanding of the double materiality analysis and how it helps to identify the most important sustainability aspects for your organisation. Learn how this analysis creates a solid foundation for your sustainability strategy.
The double materiality analysis within the framework of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) is an effective approach for identifying the sustainability aspects that are decisive for companies. In this structured process, environmental, social and governance factors are comprehensively assessed at the first level. At the second level, relevant stakeholders are involved in order to understand their perspectives and expectations. The alignment between internal views and external expectations is determined by comparing and prioritising the information collected. Based on this comparison, key aspects are defined that focus on the relevant topics. The results of this analysis flow seamlessly into the company's sustainability reporting in accordance with the ESRS, resulting in a transparent and consistent presentation of the material aspects for stakeholders. This structured methodology not only provides a clear basis for the development of sustainability strategies, but also strengthens stakeholder confidence and promotes the implementation of sustainable business practices.

Supply chain due diligence (CSDDD), decarbonisation of the supply chain & reporting
Due diligence in the supply chain (valid for Germany) is a corporate responsibility designed to ensure that products and services are manufactured in compliance with social, ecological and ethical standards. In Germany, companies above a certain size are legally obliged to take comprehensive measures (due diligence) to avoid, end or minimise potential negative impacts on people and the environment. In concrete terms, this means that companies must introduce management systems to systematically identify where their business activities may contribute to human rights violations or environmental damage.
Monitoring:
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) is responsible for checking compliance with the law.
Complaints mechanism:
People whose rights have been violated can appeal to German courts or to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control
Penalty range:
2% of annual turnover if incidents are not processed.
Up to € 8 million in the absence of complaint mechanisms and follow-up.
Up to €5 million in the absence of a risk analysis
Procedure and requirements in brief:

§4.1 Establish a risk management system
§4.3 Define clear responsibilities internally
§5 Carry out regular risk analyses
§6.4 Establish appropriate prevention measures with your direct suppliers

Decarbonisation of the supply chain
The decarbonisation of the supply chain aims to reduce CO2 emissions along the entire value chain. The components, preliminary products and raw materials used make up a large proportion of the value chain and Scope 3 emissions. Reducing these emissions is of great importance for the decarbonisation of companies.

17 Sustainable Development Goals (17 SDGs of the UN) / Agenda 2030 & reporting
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of global goals set by the United Nations to promote sustainable development by 2030. The SDGs cover various areas such as poverty eradication, gender equality, clean water, affordable and clean energy, good health and well-being, quality education, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption, climate action and many other aspects that should contribute to a fairer and greener world. Each goal contains specific sub-goals that serve to achieve concrete progress in the respective areas.
With its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 2030 Agenda sets out a global roadmap to achieve the sustainable promotion of peace, prosperity and the protection of our planet by 2030. Since 2016, 194 countries have been working to integrate this shared vision into their national development plans in order to combat poverty and reduce inequalities. There is a particular focus on the needs and priorities of the most vulnerable population groups and countries, because the 17 goals can only be successfully realised by 2030 if no one is left behind.

Sustainability strategy and corporate culture
A sustainability strategy is a comprehensive plan or systematic approach that aims to harmonise social, environmental and economic concerns in order to achieve long-term positive effects on people and the environment. The aim is to use resources efficiently, minimise environmental impact, promote social justice and ensure economic stability. An effective sustainability strategy takes into account various dimensions such as environmental protection, social responsibility and economic development and integrates them into decision-making processes at corporate, government and societal level. By focussing on long-term goals, a sustainability strategy helps to create a more sustainable and resilient future.
Corporate culture refers to the shared values, beliefs, norms and behaviours that determine the way people in a company interact with each other and perceive their work. It shapes a company's identity and influences how employees interact with each other, make decisions and pursue the company's goals. A positive corporate culture fosters collaboration, innovation and employee engagement and contributes to the realisation of a shared vision and mission. Corporate culture plays a decisive role in shaping the working environment and has a significant influence on the success and long-term development of a company.

Certification by independent third parties
Certification by an independent third party is a process in which an external organisation objectively and neutrally checks whether a company meets certain standards, norms or quality criteria. This independent body, often a certification body, confirms the company's conformity with the specified requirements through its assessment. This external validation process creates credibility and trust in the performance and quality of the certified company.
